4 Ways to Celebrate the Beginning of Fall

4 Ways to Celebrate the Beginning of Fall

Posted by Lazy One on 26th May 2023

When coffee shops start releasing pumpkin spice lattes, you know it’s time to celebrate the beginning of Fall! There are lots of ways to participate, even if you live in a place that doesn’t get cold until December. Here are four fun, family-friendly ideas to help you welcome Fall into your home!

1. PACK UP YOUR SPRING/SUMMER CLOTHES AND UNPACKING YOUR FALL/WINTER CLOTHES.

As soon as you feel that first cool breeze, it’s tempting to throw out all your warm-weather clothes...and we say go for it! Well, okay, maybe don’t throw them out, but definitely start packing them away so that you can make closet space for the heavy jackets, pants, and boots you’ll need.

Plus if you are like us, you like to sleep cool in the summer with light pajamas like the pajama shorts for men and the tank and short sets for women, but in the Fall and Winter, it is better to get comfy with warm and cozy pajamas.

2. REDECORATE YOUR HOUSE WITH FALL FLORALS, POTPOURRI, AND SCENTED CANDLES.

Goodbye, yellows and blues--hello reds, oranges, and tasteful neutrals! It’s time to take down your Summer wreaths and replace them with Fall ones. You can buy them from a local craft store or buy the materials you need to make your own! If you have kids, creativity, and a lot of patience, this could be a fun family activity.

One of the best parts about Fall is breaking out the pumpkin and apple-scented candles, and potpourri! They might make you drool with hunger, though, so you’ll want to check out our next idea.

3. GATHER YUMMY, FALL-INSPIRED RECIPES TO TRY.

Base them on your yummy candle scents, or get as creative as you like! Ask your mom what her favorite Fall recipes are, and go and create a Pinterest board and share with others while choosing your favorites to try. There are a lot of things to try and a limited amount of time to do it!

If you’re having trouble thinking of Fall-themed foods off the top of your head, think hot apple cider, apple pie, pumpkin pie, roasted pumpkin seeds, pumpkin bread… Man, those apple and pumpkin candles must’ve really gotten to us.

4. PLAN A TRIP TO YOUR LOCAL APPLE ORCHARD.

Some of you lucky ducks know exactly where the closest apple orchard is, but if you don’t, you can always Google it. Check and see when apple picking starts, and then start planning a weekend trip. Most apples are harvested mid-August through the end of October!

If you saved any apple-related recipes, this is the perfect time to try making them with apples that you and your family picked yourselves. There isn’t a more satisfying feeling!

If you love Fall as much as we do, we know you’ll enjoy doing all of these activities with your husband and kids! We can’t wait to see where your autumn adventures take you this year.
