Thanksgiving is all about family, food, and making memories. After the turkey’s carved and the pie’s served, why not keep the good times rolling with some fun, family-friendly games? This year, set the scene with matching pajamas for the whole crew, and dive into these Thanksgiving game ideas that are sure to bring everyone together.
How to Play Turkey for Thanksgiving
If you're familiar with dominoes, you may know there are many variations of ways to play. One known as Chickenfoot can just as easily be called Turkey (or Turkeyfoot) to make it a Thanksgiving game! Start a new tradition and keep a rolling score through multiple rounds to crown a new winner or reigning champ year after year. Here's a basic overview of how it works: the goal is to play all your tiles before your opponents. Each player draws a set number of dominoes, typically seven, from the pool. The game starts with a double tile placed in the center. Players then build "turkeyfoot" or "chickenfoot" shaped branches off the double tile by playing matching numbered sides of their own domino tiles. If they don't have a match, they must draw from the pool until they can play a match. Once three tiles have been played around the double, normal play resumes. The round ends when one player uses all their tiles!
